Niagara Falls road trip statistics:
Total hours on the road: 16
Number of "adult" stores passed: 10. Mostly in rural PA. Right next to Amish country. Really?
Number of times we stopped at Tim Hortons: 2
Number of people we saw pulled over: >8
Number of accidents we saw: at least 3, some more serious than others.
Scenes from the drive up:
I got pretty bored when I wasn't driving, as you can see from above.
We arrive!:
The hotel's "falls view". They're there. Behind the trees and the mist. |
Touring:
We got an "Adventure Pass" and did the Creation of the Falls experience (it shook, was loud and you got wet. They should've warned those with kids and/or me), Journey Behind the Falls where you walk through a tunnel they dug and also get wet, the White Water Walk, a path by the Class 6 rapids below the falls, and the Maid of the Mist boat ride.
I know. We're so adorable. |
Behind the falls. |
B LOVED the Maid of the Mist. He hung his head over the side of the boat like a dog in a car while the rest of us huddled against the wind and water. |
And then we changed and had a lovely dinner and found a spot to watch them light up the falls at night:
And then home again, home again, jiggity jig:
Tim Hortons' Vanilla Latte FTW! |
I would've smiled if we lived in PA, but we don't, and we still had like 5 hours to go. |
